Ross Macdonald is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School and has been practicing law since his call to the bar in 1981. He deals with all types of litigation in his varied legal practice; commercial litigation, family law matters such as divorce custody and access, estate issues, professional negligence claims, construction and insurance litigation, as well as criminal law.
He has extensive experience with both very large and complex files, and much simpler and more straight forward matters which can be dealt with expeditiously and economically. However he sees his skills as a negotiator of equal importance to his skills as a litigator, as he appreciates that often the best results can be reached at the outset, before the parties positions are hardened by the emotional and financial cost of litigation. He is also fully trained and qualified in Collaborative Family Law.
Ross was raised in Toronto and Waterloo, Ontario and now lives in the Port Credit area with his wife and three children. He is actively involved in the community, continuing to serve as a volunteer with Scouts Canada, as he has done for more than ten years, in a variety of roles both as a uniformed leader working with children and administrative functions at the local, area, and regional levels. He has served as an officer and director of the Deerhurst Owners Association for over ten years, as well as other volunteer and charitable roles.
