Joseph Etigson is counsel to Macdonald Sager Manis LLP. His
practice is directed towards all aspects of intellectual
property litigation, including patents, trade-marks,
copyright and confidential information disputes.
Etigson has appeared in interlocutory, Anton Pillar,
contempt, trial and appellate matters before the Federal
Court (Trial Division), Federal Court of Appeal, Superior
Court, and Supreme Court of Canada.
In addition to his work in the area of intellectual property
litigation, Etigson also advises clients on issues related
to software licensing, patent licensing, trade-marks, patent
and technology development, commercialization, and other
licensing matters. His practice covers several industries,
including software, aerospace, healthcare, medical devices,
and entertainment.
Prior to joining Macdonald Sager Manis, Etigson was counsel
to a leading Canadian intellectual property law firm where
he directed his practice towards pharmaceutical patent
litigation as well as other intellectual property disputes.
